3ipunt and Extempore: a new partnership to take language assessment to the next level

At 3ipunt, we are very excited to announce a new partnership with Extempore, a digital platform specializing in language practice and assessment that is widely used in the United States.

With this agreement, Extempore begins its expansion in Spain with 3ipunt, which will act as a strategic partner for its implementation, integration, and support in educational institutions.

Extempore: language assessment platform integrated into your LMS

Extempore is a 100% cloud-based platform designed to comprehensively address the four language skills:

  • speaking
  • listening
  • reading
  • writing

The interesting thing is that it is not just a one-off assessment tool, but an environment where teachers can create authentic activities, collect real evidence from students, and clearly track progress.

In addition, each student builds their own portfolio of evidence, accessible to teachers and, if desired, also to academic teams or families.

How does it work?

The flow is very natural:

  1. The teacher creates or imports a class.
  2. Design activities or reuse ready-made content
  3. Students respond (audio, video, text, multiple choice, etc.)
  4. The teacher corrects and provides feedback.
  5. The student reviews his progress.

Integration with Moodle, Canvas, and other LMS

And for those of us who live in the LMS ecosystem: Extempore integrates with platforms such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, among others.

This facilitates the synchronization of users, activities, and grades, allowing the tool to fit perfectly into face-to-face, hybrid, or fully online environments.

Joint project at the UOC

Currently, 3ipunt is leading the implementation of Extempore at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), one of Europe’s leading online universities.

This project demonstrates how a solution that has been consolidated in the United States can be successfully adapted to the European context, combining Extempore’s oral assessment technology with 3ipunt’s expertise in integration, technical deployment, and support in complex university environments.

From the United States to Spain

Extempore is already a widely used tool in school districts across the United States. With this partnership, 3ipunt is officially bringing this solution to the Spanish market, offering local support, technical integration, and strategic guidance.

The common goal is clear: to transform language teaching and assessment into more authentic, continuous experiences that are aligned with the actual use of the language.
