Discover the new features of Moodle Workplace 5.0 that are revolutionizing learning management

Moodle Workplace, an LMS solution based on Moodle for companies, presents its new version 5.0, which is full of improvements designed to decentralize administration without losing control. This update enables training and HR teams to act more quickly with increased autonomy and efficiency.

Below are the main new features of Moodle Workplace 5.0, along with ways they can improve your corporate training strategy.

Smarter program management

Users can now enroll in training programs themselves through a cleaner, more intuitive learning catalog. This feature lightens the administrative load and accelerates key processes, such as initial training, compliance, and professional development.

Additionally, programs can be linked to course categories, which makes them easy to organize and search for within the LMS.

Visual reports with real-time data

Moodle Workplace 5.0 features a new Reports and Charts block. This block allows information generated by Report Builder to be displayed directly in custom panels or the dashboard.

This functionality allows you to create interactive charts (bars, lines, and sectors), apply real-time filters, switch between table and graph views, and zoom reports to full screen — all without exporting to external tools!

Dynamic rules scheduling

One major improvement is the ability to set start and end dates for dynamic rules. This allows you to automate tasks precisely and according to time.

It’s ideal for onboarding sequences, compliance reminders, and any other process that requires planning. The motto is clear: “Schedule and forget,” which saves time and avoids errors.

Team management without the bottlenecks

Using the organizational structure, managers can now enroll their teams in programs, certifications, and individual courses directly from the My Teams block.

They can also adjust due dates, review enrollment history, and track progress without needing course-level administrative permissions.

Faster course access for managers

Team leaders now have access to a new course registration launcher that allows them to quickly navigate between available courses, eliminating the need to enter each category or course page individually.

Fewer clicks means more agility and better support for team members at the right time.

Smarter tenant archiving

When a tenant is archived, users are no longer automatically transferred to the default tenant. Instead, they are suspended within their original tenant. This preserves data, license plates, and histories, which makes it easier to restore or reassign accounts.

Additionally, the new tenant selector with autocomplete improves the administrative experience on large sites with multiple entities.

Why is this update important?

Moodle Workplace 5.0 strengthens your commitment to decentralized, personalized, data-driven training while maintaining central control and security. If your company needs a powerful internal development platform, this version is a step forward in efficiency, accessibility, and scalability.
